Pure Amyris Essential Oil
(Sometime referred to as West Indian Sandalwod oil.)
Botanical Name: Amyris balsamifera
Plant Part: Seasoned wood
Method of Extraction: Steam
Origin: West Indies
Note: Base
Strength of Aroma: Soft, woody, warm and musty. Although commonly referred to as West Indian Sandalwood oil, this oil is not a true replacement for Sandalwood essential oil. Amyris oil is extracted from wood chip. Because of the sweet and smoky aroma of this oil it is used as a scent fixative in perfumes and in soaps.

I have created a complex blend of therapeutic oils that has considerable analgesic properties, (I call it Oil of Ancients Ease). I have been making and using it for three years or more. Occasionally I experiment with new ingredients, and I must say that adding amyris to the blend has kicked my blend into the stratosphere. The aromatherapy effects are warmly enhanced, when heated, the combined scent is intoxicating. The analgesic properties are also improved, I use it for chronic pain and nausea relief. All in all, amyris has proved an economical and effective ingredient, and the quality of product from Bulk Apothecary is legendary!
