Description: A perennial, reed-like herb, cardamom grows wild and is cultivated in India and Sri Lanka. It grows up to 13 feet and has long, green silky blades, small yellowy flowers, with a violet tip and a large fleshy rhizome, similar to ginger. Oblong gray fruits follow the flowers, each containing many seeds.

History: Cardamom was well known in ancient times. The Egyptians used it in perfumes and incense and chewed it to whiten their teeth. The Romans used it for their stomachs when they over-indulged. The Arabs used it ground in their coffee. It is an important ingredient in Asian cooking.

    Meh

Posted by Bonnie Collins on 29th Nov 2018

This oil is lacking the sweet note I associate with green cardamom pods and smells very sharp and a little bitter, more like the roasted inner seeds aka black cardamom. I don't think it will work well in the perfume blend I intended to make. It might make a good soap scent in a masculine blend.

    The real deal

Posted by Glenda Munguia on 27th Dec 2017

It smells just like green cardamom. It is pricey though, all of my small bottles from Bulk Apothecary come with a built in dropper, so it is great for just using a few drops for lotions, oils, or diffusers. I would not use it in soap as it would be too pricey, but if there was a fragrance oil version I would.

Wow, what an oil! Mixed it with shea butter, almond oil, peppermint, frankincense and myrrh. Outstanding for skin problems! In 30 ml container, 1/2 shea and almond,4,8,4,7 mix. As a diabetic, one drop a day dropped my numbers by 50 points! Be careful not to use too much! Wow, I can't tell you how happy I am!!!!

    Sweet, Spicy, Grounding

Posted by Danielle T on 4th Feb 2017

Cardamom as a spice has always been one of my favorites (especially in a chai), so I was excited to find out that it is available as an essential oil, and one with so many benefits! It's such a wonderful smell, it complements a lot of florals and woody scents that I enjoy and it makes for a nice mood stabilizer in a diffuser.

When I received my package, the cardamom had spilled into the box (the box smelled great) I emailed BA and they sent a replacement right away. I love this company.

great smell but the bottle really needs a plastic cover on top that just lets a drop through

the bottles of oil are not cheap so you need to spend a penny and put one of these things on the top of the bottle.
