What is it?Peppermint oil is native to a number of countries. Japan: also known as ‘mentha arvensis’ and supreme known as 'mentha pipiretta' these oils are both commonly used in aromatherapy. Natives found in countless U.S. household products. It has a high concentration of natural pesticides, one in particular is menthone. This yellow oil is steam distilled directly from the herb and although it is most commonly found in liquid form, it can also be seen in capsules or tablets in many health food stores. Peppermint oil is high in omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin A, C, minerals, manganese, iron, calcium, magnesium, folate, copper and potassium. |

The History of Peppermint Oil
The history and uses of peppermint oil have been dated back to 1000 B.C in Egypt as well as ancient Asia. Early Egyptian, Chinese and Japanese cultures used peppermint plants and oils for their healing and restorative properties and in Greek mythology, it is said that the god Hades/Pluto transformed a nymph into the peppermint plant. Today the plant’s scientific name is still titled after the nymph, being called Mentha Piperita.
Although it has been used throughout the world, the peppermint plant is a native to the Mediterranean and can most prominently be found in gardens in North American and European Countries. Commonly referred to as the world’s oldest medicine, this cross between a spearmint and water mint plant is used in soaps, shampoos, ice cream and toothpaste as well as used for medical reasons.

A perfect spider remedy
This is my favorite oil. Mixed with eater and sprayed around my home it makes a great insect repellent! Also.. it's great for muscle aches and head aches. A must have for any home!

Use it often
I love this peppermint oil. Have been adding to my drinking water. Have also been soaking washcloths in a peppermint water bath, then freezing them in baggies. I take the frozen washcloth when I go for walks on hot days. So refreshing! Got the idea from a spa which had peppermint washcloths in an ice bath for use after sauna. Also put it in homemade bug spray.
I've been using so much peppermint oil that it was becoming too expensive to keep buying the smaller bottles from other essential oil companies. The 2 oz size goes much further and the oil is really great.
The only downside is that I would like to use a dropper cap instead of having to rely on pipettes all the time. When I put one from an empty bottle in it, I couldn't put the lid on the peppermint oil because of that plastic thing in the underside of the lid. -
Love this peppermint oil
I love the big bottle. This peppermint oil is strong and that works so well for keeping mice away from storage areas and out of the crawl space under the house. A few drops on cotton balls and space them around the perimeters. Also works great for adding to hand soaps, shampoos, etc.

Excellent product! I use this product for keeping bugs, ants and other crawling and flying creatures away... cleaning office, kitchen, bathrooms. The fresh, clean smell is antiseptic and good for respiration.
