Once natural luffa gourds have matured they are hand-picked and naturally dehydrated for almost 9 months. The inside of the luffa gourd is then processed and cleaned to be sold to the cosmetic industry. These pieces are cut down to be around 5" which is the perfect size for suspending 1 piece in a bar of soap.

Good quality, perfect size
These loofahs are perfect! Perfect size, uniformly cut. All I had to do was add a lovely ribbon and they are all set for gift-giving or adding to gift baskets.

How to make it smaller!
I would give these a 5 if they weren't sometimes way too large for my molds. The length is perfect as 2 fit just so into one column mold. I tried cutting the width of the too large pieces down, but that leaves the edges too rough and doesn't look as nice. I have found, however, that if you roll them they will compress and then you can insert them into the molds. If you over compress, no problem as they expand back out to the edges of the mold. It worked really well for me with the wider pieces. I am ordering again.

Loofahs are now 'shower ready'
I've been buying these loofahs for five or six years, and would cut them into small pieces to put into my log soaps. For no reason and without changing the description on the website they now come with a hanger/rope to hang in the shower. It's nice, looks professional, be not what I was expecting, and I also can't use these loofahs for what I used them for originally. I do like the addition, but I also would still like the option to not have them so I can cut them into 3/4 inch pieces to put in my soaps. Will you offer the option, Bulk Apothecary?

what a surprise.. i didn't expect it to be on a rope and shrink wrapped, it saved me so much time by already being in this fashion! i will be ordering more because time is money and i saved a bunch of time by purchasing from BA.

Sadly dissapointed
This time the loofah were huge. Much to big around to fit in the molds. Others have been more manageable. I'll have to cut and shred these losing the appeal of the round loofah soap. Good quality. Just to huge.
