    I tried to like it

Posted by Josselyne on 24th May 2023

The good things about this base: it's thick and lathers up nicely.

The bad: I used this both as a shampoo and body wash to try it out and I couldn't get past the way it feels. It makes my hair so hard, I can't shampoo evenly because the hair gets so tough to work with and doesn't go though to the scalp. I added sodium lactate and a rice protein that works as a softener and still it was bad, I gave some samples to some people and they experienced the same issue as me. As a body wash it made my skin feel squeaky, no matter how much I rinsed it I still felt it on my skin.

    Use this myself

Posted by MATTHEW CLAPP on 31st May 2021

I've tried a bunch of body washes on myself, and I love this one. It rinses off well, not leaving a soapy slippery residue. I also like that it's a little thinner--other body washes sometimes are so thick that if I'm not careful the bottle will suck the body wash back into itself when I let go! This is my standard body wash in my own shower.

The product is nice but far too runny for my customers liking.

    Excellent product

Posted by Scott on 5th Feb 2019

This is a terrific base to use for bath gels, shampoos, etc. The ingredients are all safe and non-controversial and with just a touch of color added, they have a beautiful appearance of suspended bubbles that lasts for weeks after they are shaken up. So easy to work with and they hold fragrance very well.

They do have a thinner consistency than traditional bath gel, but I actually really like it. Once you get over the fact that it's not just like other bath gels, you can appreciate the fact that it's... not like other bath gels. It foams very well and leaves your skin feeling nice after it rinses off.

    great stuff

Posted by Verna on 9th Nov 2018

I use this as a shampoo and a body wash. I have very dry hair so I add a few oils and scent to it, and have the perfect non stripping shampoo. I love that it is sulfate free. I've used it to make custom body wash for my family as gifts as well.

Best Shampoo / Body Wash Base

Posted by Vaelkyrja on 10th Feb 2018

I love this stuff. It mixes well, including high-water formulas. I have yet to see it separate. It's thick and viscous to start. I use to make foaming hand soap-- I only need a Tablespoon! It's also great to my hair and skin. LOVE the Paraben-free options on Bulk Apothecary. Please keep it up!

    Like this product

I like this base as far as “mostly natural” bases go. I prefer and use the shower gel base you sell. This product has a thinner lather and less bubbles and my clients are a bit stern on the “soapiness” is bubbles.
