Olive Oil Pomace

The pomace version of olive oil is produced from the pulp leftover from the first pressing of olive oil. It is refined, slightly less “olive” scented, and has a clearer color than traditional olive oil. Olive Oil Pomace does work slightly differently than its origin. When used in cold process soap, for example, it produces a pure, white soap rather than a yellow one derived from Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and has a slightly accelerated trace. Its recommended uses are in soaps such as cold process facial bars and goats milk, shampoo, castile soap, and generally in natural soap making.

The CPSC recommends washing clothing, rags or other material saturated with any substance found on this site more than once and then hanging to dry to avoid spontaneous combustion in a dryer.
