Use as a base for masculine fragrance

Posted by Gail M. on 25th Apr 2017

I was quite surprised at the over-powering aroma of this fragrance. It was a cross between the earthy-wiodsy, that is described in some other reviews, and wet mulch. When I began to make my "masculine?" fragrance for my husband and son, neither said they would wear it and both described it as smelling like "wet wood." I found a blog where the woman mixed this fragrance with bergamot and I must admit, it smelled MUCH better. So, 2 parts bergamot with 1 part patchouli cedarwood makes a nice masculine fragrance, but I would strongly disagree that it should be used by itself unless you just like the wet mulch/wood smell.

    Not consistent.

This is the second time I purchased this scent. The first time had more of a patchouli scent and an undertone of cedar. This purchase seems to be the exact opposite. I also purchased patchouli scent so I just add a little of that to my foaming hand soap. I get close but I still prefer the first batch I purchased.

    Earthy

I love patchouli, but love it more when it isn't soooo strong, so i thought the cedarwood would cut down the severity of the patchouli. it does, but, to my preference, the cedar could be stronger. The patchouli really comes forward in this. That said, i still love it!!

    Wonderful Scent!

I like it a lot, smells like fresh cut wood. Didn't stay in the soap base very well. I recommend using a lot if you want it to scent your soap.

    Fantastic combination

This scent has become one of my best sellers. No acceleration, and the scent does not fade. Love it and will continue to use it in my cold process soaps!

    Sweet, sexy scent.

Posted by Tracie Justice on 5th Apr 2016

I purchased Texas Cedar oil and it was a tad to earthly smelling, so I purchased this hoping to add just a bit of sweetness for a sexy soap scent for men. A few drops of this mixed with the Texas Cedar nailed it!!

    I really like this

Posted by Regina M Davis on 21st Mar 2016

I would wear this oil as is because it is woody and musky to me and those are my favorite fragrances in addition to florals. This would work well in a soap or lotion or even in a candle!

    Nice!

I wasn't sure I'd like this, but I was wrong! It smells very dirt-earthy (in that good way), with a clean backdrop to it. I love it.
