Because of the lack of refinement, Bulk African Shea Butter has a pale yellowish color and has the typical odor normally associated with Shea Butter. It may also contain sediment, small amounts of shell, plant fiber, etc. This shea butter comes from Burkina Faso, Africa and is certified organic.

There is also less of an odor, which is why refined butter is the normal choice for the soap making and personal care industry.
Unrefined Shea Butter – We also sell butter that is left unrefined. This gives it a pale yellowish color and has the typical odor normally associated with Shea Butter.
Please note: Our 55 lb blocks of organic naturally refined and unrefined shea butter are certified organic. Our smaller sizes are not yet certified organic. We are in the process of having them certified.

Soft and creamy!
I have bought Shea butter from quite a few retailers and decided to try some from bulk apothecary since their price is great and I buy so much other stuff from them. It is a great product. It's soft and creamy at room temperature whereas some Shea ends up hard and crumbly. Looking forward to using it in my body butters and deodorants.

I ordered organic virgin unrefined and paid for extra shipping. It came the next morning! Easy to use. I specifically bought it to use on my fresh tattoo because coconut oil was absorbed too quickly and once it was absorbed it made my skin feel dry. This shea butter was heavy enough to where I didn't have to constantly reapply and my skin never feels greasy. Even after the area where my tattoo is absorbed the shea butter my skin felt soft and moisturized. I will definitely keep buying. Best value for what I got!

A lot of butter for your buck
&lbs of shea butter may not sound like a lot, but when take into account that you use about 1/2 cup for most recipes to make topical solution for psoriasis that 7lbs goes a long way, and the price is very low. Great delivery, I got mine two days after placing the order, that's phenomenal! I use essential oils in the mix and wow, took care of my breakout, like now!
