Unscented Hair Gel Base

I want to love this gel. It comes unscented and I want to add a little scent. Figuring out the AMOUNT of fragrance is simple enough because the fragrance comes with instructions on how much to add. However, what about the gel? Do you heat it up? Melt it? Keep it cold and mix by hand? Handmixer? I called Bulk Apothecary and I was told due to liability issues, they didn't offer any instructions. Honestly, that makes zero sense. Seems like it would be more of a liability to NOT include instructions. I was told to 'google' recipes and look for videos online. Well, the company doesn't offer any so... I'm just supposed to trust some random you-tuber who made up something. Anyway, unscented, the gel feels great. It's just so frustrating otherwise not to provide any help / instructions for a product made by Bulk Apothecary (Nature's Oil).

I am allergic to fragrance, so I am very thankful Bulk Apoth offers so many unscented options. The gel is great at styling my hair. It is not sticky like the other unscented brand I have tried and it is sooooo inexpensive. Please don't change the formula! EVER!

I have long hair that can sometimes be a little limp. To this hair gel base I added some EO’s that when combined have an Aveda like smell. With the oils added the gel is somewhat thin, but when I put it throughout my hair and blow dry it with a round brush it leaves my hair shiny with nice texture, and it doesn’t fall flat. If you’re looking for strong hold, don’t use this this, but for light hold and texture, this is great. I highly recommend.

I agree with the previous reviewer. This gel barely has hold, if any at all. I too always wear my hair up and the flyaways make me crazy! I don’t like hairspray and I didn’t want something that was going to leave my hair really sticky and flaky. But this is just water and a thickener. I added some more pvp and additional polymers in to see if it would help with the hold. haven’t had the chance to test it yet, This is just to see if I could make this work. I also am going to try it as a blow dry gel and see if I get more volume.

I've been testing this gel for about a month (with and without fragrance) and it just doesn't hold. I hate flyaways when I'm wearing a ponytail but I don't like my hair to get too sticky. This didn't hold them down at all. I'm going to try it as a as a blow dry gel to see if it adds a bit of volume at the roots.

I am fragrance sensitive with other skin issues, and have been searching for a good unscented hair gel. I found it! While the gel seems on the thin side, it provides excellent hold but keeps the hair soft, in my opinion the same as others sold has "extra hold". It is easy to wash out and does not leave a residue on the scalp to cause problems. Thank you for an excellent product.

This gel is great. I have shiny, textured hair without even using the blow dryer!
